Case Summary

When we took Jeremy Vega’s case, he was being accused of the following charges:

• Leaving the Scene of Crash Involving Injury
• Driving While License Cancelled, Suspended or Revoked, and the lesser included offense of Driving with No Valid Driver's License
• Reckless Driving Causing Injury, and the lesser included offense of Reckless Driving

According to the State, Mr. Vega was responsible for a hit-and-run accident in which a 4-year-old boy was injured. The prosecution claimed that the alleged hit-and-run was the result of an encounter with another driver fueled by road-rage. However, witnesses could not be certain that our client, a father of a child in similar age to the victim, was actually the driver of the vehicle.

At trial, the jury heard the testimony of the then-five-year-old victim, who had made a full recovery.
