Education

I am a 1979 graduate of the Nova University Law Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I received my Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, and was licensed to practice law in Florida by the Florida Supreme Court in 1980. I also hold a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from the University of Miami.

Legal Activities, Honors & Distinctions

I’ve been a member of the Florida Bar Association Family Law Section, have served as Chairman of the Volusia County Bar Association Family Law Committee, and was an appointed member of the Family Court Task Force for the Seventh Judicial Circuit (which includes Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St. Johns Counties). I have also served as a member of the Domestic Violence Task Force for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, and as Chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Seventh Judicial Circuit.

Additionally, I also served on the Board of Directors of the Volusia County Bar Association, as a member of the Local Rules Committee and as Chairman of the Family Law Committee. I have lectured at seminars in the area of Marital and Family Law in the Volusia County area on several occasions, and am listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN LAW, LAW & LEADING ATTORNEYS (FLORIDA FAMILY LAW LEADING ATTORNEYS), WHO’S WHO IN EXECUTIVES & PROFESSIONALS, OUTSTANDING YOUNG MEN OF AMERICA, and others.

Family Law Involvement and Experience

I have extensively and exclusively practiced in the area of Marital and Family Law, including: contested and uncontested dissolution of marriage, adoption, paternity, alimony, property and debt division and distribution, child support, local and interstate child custody and visitation matters, post judgment modification and enforcement matters, domestic violence matters, name changes, antenuptial, postnuptial, separation and settlement agreements, domestic violence matters, dependency and juvenile matters, family law mediations and family law appeals for the past 45 years, and was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator in 1993, having served as a court-appointed Mediator in thousands of contested marital and family law cases, as well as serving as an Attorney-ad-litem, representing the interests of children in contested child custody and visitation matters.

Community & Civic Involvement and Activities

In addition to my 4 decades of legal service, I have also been actively involved in many volunteer youth, civic, and community activities for many years, including: Jaycees (Past State Director); Red Cross; Youth Baseball Coach; Special Olympics; High School Softball Coach; Youth Football (Pop Warner), Basketball and Soccer Coach; High School Girls Softball Coach; High School Football Coach (16 years); Ormond Beach Youth Baseball Association (Capital Projects Director and Board of Directors); Ormond Beach Charter Review Commission; Ormond Beach Board of Adjustment and Appeals; Ormond Beach Quality of Life Board. I was proud to honored by City of Ormond Beach & Ormond Beach Youth Baseball Association for my efforts in the implementation and construction of the Ormond Beach Softball/Soccer/Football Complex.
