Police allegedly discover meth lab in South Daytona Beach home

When a criminal defense lawyer assesses a client’s case, one of the most important aspects to consider is evidence. Whether it came from a search of a home or from informants, it’s important that Daytona Beach residents’ rights are protected. The inclusion or exclusion of certain evidence can mean the difference between acquittal and conviction.

Take, for example, a recent local case. After receiving complaints from residents in a South Daytona Beach about a specific home, police started an investigation that reportedly lasted three months. Last week, they initiated a raid of the home, leading to the arrest of four individuals.

Authorities claim they found a methamphetamine lab inside, as well as meth oil. One of the four arrested was a 45-year-old man who reportedly has an extensive criminal history related to drug offenses. Police claim the man had meth oil valued at about $30,000 on the street.

During their search, they allegedly found a mirror on a tree that authorities believe was used to keep an eye out for police, as well as meth-making ingredients inside the home. Initially, authorities did not enter the house because it was too dangerous. Instead, they ordered the occupants to come outside one-by-one.

Not only did neighbors complain of a lot of traffic and theft in the area, but authorities claim they actually got tips from people who bought drugs at the home. When it comes to defending the rights of those arrested, this type of evidence may play an important role.
