Florida Attorneys, Local Girl Scouts Surprise Army With Christmas Gifts

Released January 10, 2014

Anchorage, Alaska - Attorneys Aaron Delgado and David Damore of the Florida Law Firm Damore, Delgado Romanik & , along with Junior Troop 1225 of the Girls Scouts of America organized a big surprise for Troop 6-17CAV of the United States Army stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

In November of 2013 Specialist Tristan Hays of the United States Army mentioned to his cousin, Andrea Coleman, that his Army troop was low on personal supplies. Many of the soldiers had just returned from Afghanistan after a yearlong deployment. Upon hearing of the soldiers needs Ms. Coleman contacted local Troop leader Jean Marie of The Girls Scouts of America and asked if the Troop could help. Immediately the Girl Scouts began a fundraising drive and asked for donations. The most pressing needs were personal hygiene products, edible preserved snacks and postage to send letters home. The troop then approached Damore, Delgado Romanik & about sponsoring the effort and to help with the costs of packaging and shipping as well as any other contributions they could make.

Ultimately the Girl Scouts, through their hard work, received hundreds of goods and products from the community. Seven large boxes were shipped on December 10th to the many men and women of Troop 6-17CAV. Below are some of the pictures of the soldiers receiving their shipment in January.

The lawyers at Damore, Delgado Romanik & would like to thank the Girl Scouts of America for allowing us to be part of this rewarding endeavor and to the Soldiers of Troop 6-17CAV for their service to our country!
